Organic LEDs: from limits analysis to device performances improvement

open access: yes, 2009
This thesis is centred on the study of opto-electronic devices and their characteristics to give a right understanding on the injection and transport mechanisms of charge carriers. Temperature dependence and high field limits are analyzed and the failure

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

InGaN LEDs still headlining

open access: yes, 1998
Just a few years ago blue-green LEDs were an expensive curiosity with little practical application owing to their inferior price/performance. While the opto industry was making millions of low-cost longer wavelength LEDs, the blue emitters were lagging ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Controlling the light intensities of 3D multitude RGB LEDs cube

open access: yes, 2015
Human beings seek knowledge, and as technology advances, we develop better tools for understanding and conversing with the world around us. The 3D RGB LED cube is a display system that can help in teaching young children the alphabets, numbers, the color

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Luminous efficacy and color rendering index of high power white LEDs packaged by using red phosphor

open access: yes, 2011
We packaged a series of high power white LEDs by covering the blue LED chips with yellow phosphor, red phosphor and the two phosphors mixed by appropriate mass ratio, respectively, and discussed the excitation and emission spectrum of yellow phosphor and
