Heterometallic molecular clusters used as messenger building units yield metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) with distinct topologies through the combination with selected linkers of various connectivities. Specific metal combinations are thus precisely inserted in MOFs, enhancing their performance as heterogeneous photocatalysts after being structured in ...

Abstract Introduction Atrioventricular (AV)‐node ablation (AVNA) is a common therapy option for rate control strategy of permanent atrial fibrillation (AF). We hypothesized that isolation of the AV nodal isolation (AVNI) is associated with a more frequent preservation of an adequate escape rhythm compared to AVNA.

Abstract We explored the diversification of the south‐eastern and eastern European Euphorbia agraria s.l. applying molecular (amplified fragment length polymorphism [AFLP] fingerprinting and sequencing of the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer [ITS]), cytogenetic (relative genome size [RGS] estimations) and morphometric methods.

ABSTRACT Spasmodic dysphonia is a laryngeal dystonia that can present as adductor, abductor, or mixed types, with or without tremor. The etiology is not understood fully. Comprehensive evaluation is required to establish the diagnosis. Treatments include voice therapy, medications, botulinum toxin injection, laryngeal surgery, deep brain stimulation ...

Left bundle branch area pacing improves right ventricular function and synchrony
The impact of left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) on right ventricular (RV) function and tricuspid regurgitation (TR) remains unclear. We aimed to assess the long-term effects of LBBAP on RV performance and on TR.RV function was evaluated using RV free wall strain, tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion, fractional area changing, and systolic ...

Knowledge of animal movement patterns is invaluable to understanding the spread of diseases among wildlife populations. One example is the recent African swine fever (ASF) outbreak among wild boar Sus scrofa populations across East Asia, where there is a lack of information on movements of this species.

The New EU Industrial Policy and Deepening Structural Asymmetries: Smart Specialisation Not So Smart
In response to the 2008 financial crisis and rising competitive pressures from emerging markets, EU industrial policy has made a major comeback. One of the flagship policies is Smart Specialisation, which is located at the intersection of industrial and cohesion policy, and which serves the twin purpose of catalysing the transition of manufacturing ...

Abstract Abnormalities in the heart's rhythm, known as arrhythmias, pose a significant threat to global health, often leading to severe cardiac conditions and sudden cardiac deaths. Therefore, early and accurate detection of arrhythmias is crucial for timely intervention and potentially life‐saving treatment.

A historical review of experimental imaging of the beating heart coronary microcirculation in vivo
Intravital imaging of the beating heart microcirculation in vivo has been challenging. The past 50 years has seen changes in ways to both stabilise and image the heart with a shift from learning about coronary vascular anatomy and physiology to the role of thromboinflammation and other microcirculatory disturbances in cardiovascular disease.
