The Return of the Left in East-Central Europe

Problems of Post-Communism, 1995
The remarkable comeback of left-wing parties in the recent Polish and Hungarian elections may be explained by the failures of the post-communist governments and the ability of the former ruling parties to reinvent themselves. It does not signal a return to authoritarianism.

Generalized derivations on prime rings satisfying certain identities

, 2021
Let R be a ring with characteristic different from 2. An additive mapping F : R → R is called a generalized derivation on R if there exists a derivation d : R → R such that F (xy) = F (x)y + xd(y) holds for all x, y ∈ R.

A Syndrome Associated with Left Hand Paralysis of Central Origin

Journal of Mental Science, 1945
Certain disturbances of a higher order, e.g. aphasia and agnosia, follow as a rule a lesion of the left hemisphere in right-handed persons and vice versa. This dominance of one hemisphere for certain functions has been well established from abundant material.

Centralizer of Engel Elements in a Group

, 2010
In this paper we show that some finiteness properties on a centralizer of a particular subgroup can be inherited by the whole group. Among other things, we prove the following characterization of polycyclic groups: a soluble group G is polycyclic if and ...

On Semilattices of R-Ample Semigroups with Left Central Idempotents

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
In this article, the semilattice decomposition of r-ample semigroups with left central idempotents is given. By using this decomposition, we show that a semigroup is a r-ample semigroup with left central idempotents if and only if it is a strong semilattice of , where is a monoid and is a right zero band. As a corollary, the characterization theorem of
