Left Mediastinal Central Line Malposition
Angiology, 1999Central venous line malpositioning in the left mediastinum is a rare event. A case of left superior intercostal vein central venous line placement is reported. Chest radiographs, especially lateral views and contrast studies, are useful for position evaluation.

Central adiposity and left ventricular mass in obese children
Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases, 2008The impact of central adiposity on left ventricular (LV) mass in childhood obesity has been little explored. This study evaluates whether central obesity influences LV mass and function in obese children.Biochemical, anthropometric and echocardiographic measurements were taken in obese (n=111, mean age 10.6+/-2.5 years) and non-obese children (n=30 ...

A Syndrome Associated with Left Hand Paralysis of Central Origin
Journal of Mental Science, 1945Certain disturbances of a higher order, e.g. aphasia and agnosia, follow as a rule a lesion of the left hemisphere in right-handed persons and vice versa. This dominance of one hemisphere for certain functions has been well established from abundant material.

Jordan left *-centralizers of prime and semiprime rings with involution
Beiträge zur Algebra und Geometrie / Contributions to Algebra and Geometry, 2012Let \(R\) be a ring with involution *. An additive mapping \(T\colon R\to R\) is called a left *-centralizer (resp. Jordan left *-centralizer) if \(T(xy)=T(x)y^*\) (resp. \(T(x^2)=T(x)x^*\)) holds for all \(x,y\in R\), and a reverse left *-centralizer if \(T(xy)=T(y)x^*\) holds for all \(x,y\in R\).

The Return of the Left in East-Central Europe
Problems of Post-Communism, 1995The remarkable comeback of left-wing parties in the recent Polish and Hungarian elections may be explained by the failures of the post-communist governments and the ability of the former ruling parties to reinvent themselves. It does not signal a return to authoritarianism.

Jordan left $α$-centralizer on certain algebras
In this paper, we investigate Jordan left $α$-centralizer on algebras. We show that every Jordan left $α$-centralizer on an algebra with a right identity is a left $α$-centralizer. We also investigate this result for Banach algebras with a bounded approximate identity. Finally, we study Jordan left $α$-centralizer on group algebra $L^1(G)$.Eisaei, M. +2 more

[Sudden left-sided vision loss. Occlusion of the left central retinal artery].
Praxis, 2001A 77 year old female patient was admitted to our hospital because of a rapid onset left-sided visual loss. Occlusion of the left central retinal artery was confirmed by the consultant ophthalmologist. The patient was further evaluated to exclude a thromboembolic event. Chest x-ray was consistent with pulmonary hypertension.
