LARGE LEFT VENTRICULAR INFEROBASAL ANEURYSM FOLLOWING CIRCUMFLEX ARTERY OCCLUSION.

open access: yes, 2019
The majority of cardiac left ventricular aneurysms involve the anterior and/or apical wall. We present a case of a 57-year-old man with acute coronary syndrome with ST segment elevation complicated of a large inferobasal left ventricular aneurysm which ...

Tissue‐retained needles in people who inject drugs: A systematic review of case reports and series on clinical presentations, complications and management

open access: yesAddiction, Volume 121, Issue 6, Page 1381-1397, June 2026.
Abstract Background and aims Tissue‐retained needles from intravenous drug use can cause rare but severe complications, ranging from local to systemic infections to needle embolization. Due to the limited evidence and the lack of epidemiological studies on the issue, we systematically reviewed the literature focusing on case reports and case series on ...

Differential Influences of Achieved Blood Pressure on Cardiovascular Outcomes by Left Ventricular Geometries According to Chinese Ethnicity‐Specific Echocardiographic Criteria for Hypertensive Patients

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Hypertension, Volume 28, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Abnormal LV geometrics implied higher cardiovascular risk for hypertensive patients. Ethnicity‐specific cardiographic criteria classified more accurately the left ventricular (LV) geometric patterns for Chinese than international guideline.

Superoxide Dismutase–Centered Modulation by Curcumin in Cardiovascular Diseases: Mechanistic Insights and Translational Implications

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 11, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) remain the leading global cause of morbidity and mortality, driven in part by dysregulated redox homeostasis and chronic inflammation. Superoxide dismutase (SOD), a key enzymatic defence against reactive oxygen species (ROS), plays a central role in maintaining cardiovascular integrity through regulation of ...

Dilated Cardiomyopathy and Aortic Thrombosis in a Capuchin Monkey (Sapajus apella)

open access: yesJournal of Medical Primatology, Volume 55, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This case report describes a capuchin monkey (Sapajus apella) that presented with bilateral paralysis and cold hind limbs. Clinical examination, including ultrasound imaging, revealed dilated cardiomyopathy and aortic thrombosis. Macroscopic, histopathological, and immunohistochemical analyses confirmed these findings.
