A human subventricular zone‐on‐a‐chip is developed to model intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) in preterm infants. This platform enables the study of inflammation‐driven neurogenic disruption. Exposure to hemorrhagic cerebrospinal fluid and red blood cell lysate activated inflammatory pathways, with IL1B emerging as a key mediator.

A Case of HeartMate 3 Outflow Graft Twisting with Extraluminal Thrombosis: Is Computed Tomography Angiography Helpful? [PDF]
Twists in the outflow graft of the HeartMateTM 3 device (Abbott) have recently been described as a sporadic, late complication. We present a case with a unique combination of external compression of the HeartMate 3 outflow graft by a surgical scar ...

FMO2 Promotes Angiogenesis via Regulation of N‐Acetylornithine
This study identifies flavin‐containing monooxygenase 2 (FMO2) as a novel proangiogenic regulator in endothelial cells. Targeted FMO2 ablation impairs vessel sprouting, whereas its compensation potently enhances angiogenesis. Metabolomics and single‐cell sequencing reveal that FMO2 drives vascular growth via the N‐acetylornithine/ATF3/NOTCH1 axis ...

This study presents an engineered human interferon‐lambda (hIFN‐λ) as an intranasal prophylactic against respiratory viruses. By combining AI‐guided backbone redesign and glycoengineering, the authors developed a thermostable, protease‐resistant, and scalable variant with improved mucosal penetration.

Thyrotoxicosis-facilitated bridge to recovery with a continuous-flow left ventricular assist device [PDF]
The HeartMate II is a continuous-flow left ventricular assist device that can be explanted from patients after cardiac recovery. We implanted a HeartMate II in a 21-year-old man who had idiopathic cardiomyopathy. A year later, he developed thyrotoxicosis,

Cutting the Cord: A Case of Late Presenting Driveline Infection [PDF]
Ventricular assist device (VAD) related infection, specifically driveline infection, is a common complication after VAD implantation. A 45-year old patient with a delayed skin infection at the site of the original driveline nearly one year after VAD ...

Development and characterization of the arterial windkessel and its role during left ventricular assist device assistance [PDF]
Modeling of the cardiovascular system is challenging, but it has the potential to further advance our understanding of normal and pathological conditions. Morphology and function are closely related. The arterial system provides steady blood flow to each
