Pacinian Corpuscle‐Inspired Strain Conversion Enables Ultrasensitive, Linear, and Broad‐Range Piezoelectric Sensing for Cardiovascular Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioinspired piezoelectric sensor mimicking Pacinian corpuscles is developed to enable ultrasensitive and linear pressure sensing. A multilayer grooved architecture converts normal pressure into in‐plane strain, delivering high sensitivity, wide linear range, and efficient energy harvesting, enabling high‐fidelity wrist pulse monitoring and ...

Cardiac and Metabolic Effects of Bariatric Surgery Among Obese Patients in a Malaysian Tertiary Hospital:

open access: yesJournal of the ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Societies, 2023
Objective. Obesity is known to be associated with left ventricular diastolic dysfunction due to its effect on blood pressure and glucose tolerance. We aimed to investigate whether weight loss after bariatric surgery might improve diastolic dysfunction ...

Biomarkers of Inflammation in Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction

open access: yesDisease Markers, 2019
Left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD) is an important precursor to many different cardiovascular diseases. Diastolic abnormalities have been studied extensively in the past decade, and it has been confirmed that one of the mechanisms leading to heart failure is a chronic, low-grade inflammatory reaction.

ZSF1 lean rats – How healthy are they?

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
This study aimed to examine the health status, specifically the physiology and myocardial, vascular, and skeletal muscle function of lean ZSF1 rats by comparing them to age‐ and sex‐matched Wistar rats. Compared to Wistar controls, ZSF1 lean rats exhibited lower body weight, but showed increased heart, and skeletal muscle mass.

Effect of Age and Sex on Left Atrial and Left Ventricular Diastolic Diameters in Patients with Mild Diastolic Dysfunction (Grade I)

open access: yesJournal of Rawalpindi Medical College, 2018
Background: To analyze the relationship between age, sex, left atrial and left ventricular diastolic diameters in patients with mild diastolic dysfunction. Methods: In this cross-sectional observational study patients (n=434) diagnosed with mild or grade

DIASTOLIC DYSFUNCTION AND REMODELING OF THE LEFT VENTRICULAR DEPENDING ON THE CONTROL OF GLYCEMIA IN PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS

open access: yesЕвразийский Кардиологический Журнал, 2014
The aim. Studying of influence of the control glycaemia on development of diastolic dysfunction and remodelling of left ventricular in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) with presence or absence of essential arterial hypertension was evaluated ...

Chronic high‐fat diet induces multi‐organ dysfunction and metabolic homeostasis disruption in Macaca fascicularis

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
An 18‐month HFD successfully established a translational Macaca fascicularis model replicating key metabolic disorders (MASH, diabetes, cardiac hypertrophy). MASH was determined by liver biopsy histology, the presence steatosis, inflammatory infiltration, hepatocytic ballooning, and fibrosis were considered as MASH; diabetes was diagnosed according to ...
