Dual Antiplatelet Therapy Prior to Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Acute Coronary Syndrome: Prevalence and Outcomes in Contemporary Practice

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) is standard following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Preloading is the practice of administering both aspirin and a P2Y12 inhibitor before PCI. DAPT preloading is common practice, however clinical trial evidence demonstrating benefit is lacking.

Real Time Hemodynamic Monitoring During M‐TEER Using Electrical Cardiometry

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Mitral regurgitation is a common valvular dysfunction causing patient morbidity and mortality. Mitral transcatheter edge‐to‐edge repair (M‐TEER) allows grasping of valvular leaflets and approximation via a small implant, thus reducing mitral regurgitation (MR).

Non-invasive quantification of exercise-induced changes in regional left ventricular function in normals and patients with one vessel coronary artery disease using radionuclide ventriculography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
To quantitate changes in regional left ventricular function induced by ischemia or scar, rest and exercise equilibrium radionuclide studies of 26 patients with one vessel coronary artery disease and 12 normal individuals were analysed with a new method ...

Safety and Efficacy of a Plug‐Based Vascular Closure Device After Percutaneous Microaxial Flow Pump in the Treatment of Complex and High‐Risk Indicated Patients

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Femoral large‐bore vascular access is an important and constantly increasing technique in interventional treatment. Temporary circulatory support in complex and high‐risk indicated patients (CHIP) presents a challenge in terms of postinterventional access site closure.

Impact of Elevated Preprocedural Left Ventricular Filling Pressure on Prognosis of Mild Paravalvular Regurgitation Following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Paravalvular regurgitation (PVR) following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a complication linked to poor outcomes. The prognostic impact of mild PVR, particularly in patients with elevated preprocedural left ventricular (LV) filling pressure, remains uncertain.

Treatment of dilated cardiomyopathy with carvedilol in children

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Pediatrics, 2009
We performed a study to examine the clinical use of carvedilol, its dosage and its effects on systolic functions in children. Twenty-one patients with dilated cardiomyopathy who were treated with carvedilol adjacent to standard heart failure ...
