Genetic Associations of Functional Longevity With Sexual Precocity and Growth Traits in Nellore Beef Cattle

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Functional longevity (FL) is a complex trait that integrates many attributes directly contributing to the successful retention and productivity of a cow within the herd. Consequently, improving FL in beef cattle increases herd profitability. This study aimed to estimate the genetic associations between two alternative FL definitions and traits

Some Types of Identities Involving the Legendre Polynomials

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this paper, a new non-linear recursive sequence is firstly introduced. Then, using this sequence, a computational problem involving the convolution of the Legendre polynomial is studied using the basic and combinatorial methods.

Genetic Evaluation for Functional Longevity in Nellore Cattle

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Stayability (STAY) presents limitations in capturing genetic variability among animals with varying calving records up to 76 months of age. Furthermore, because STAY is measured late in life (typically at 6 years of age), it inherently prolongs generation intervals.

Neutral interactions among non‐native plants are common

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Global distribution of studies and overall effect of co‐invasion for all metrics of non‐native plant performance combined. Summary Globalization has accelerated the establishment of non‐native plant species, increasing the prevalence of multispecies co‐invasions; yet interactions among co‐invaders remain poorly understood.

Nowcasting Swiss GDP Growth From Public Lead Texts: Simple Methods Are Sufficient

open access: yesOxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Public lead texts from Swiss newspapers contain most of the signal needed to nowcast Swiss GDP growth in real time. I build an indicator from daily topic‐specific sentiment and recession measures extracted from three Swiss newspapers and evaluate it in pseudo‐real time.

Insights into biomass accumulation and challenges in grain yield prediction of elite breeding materials using UAV‐based vegetation indices in soft red winter wheat

open access: yesThe Plant Phenome Journal, Volume 9, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract High‐throughput phenotyping (HTP) techniques have brought new opportunities to understand and evaluate key traits in plant breeding programs. Combining multiple measures through time and random regression models permits a more comprehensive understanding of the genetic and environmental effects on trait expression over time. This study aims to

Congruences concerning Legendre polynomials II [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Number Theory, 2013
Suppose that p is an odd prime and d is a positive integer. Let x and y be integers given by p = x2+dy2 or 4p = x2+dy2. In this paper we determine x( mod p) for many values of d. For example, [Formula: see text] where x is chosen so that x ≡ 1 ( mod 3). We also pose some conjectures on supercongruences modulo p2 concerning binary quadratic forms.
