Generating functions of Legendre polynomials: A tribute to Fred Brafman
In 1951, Brafman derived several “unusual” generating functions of classical orthogonal polynomials, in particular, of Legendre polynomials Pn(x). His result was a consequence of Bailey’s identity for a special case of Appell’s hypergeometric function of

Chained-Function Filter Synthesis Based on the Modified Jacobi Polynomials [PDF]
A new class of filter functions with pass-band ripple which derives its origin from a method of determining the chained function lowpass filters described by Guglielmi and Connor is introduced.

Elliptic Biorthogonal Polynomials Connected with Hermite's Continued Fraction
We study a family of the Laurent biorthogonal polynomials arising from the Hermite continued fraction for a ratio of two complete elliptic integrals. Recurrence coefficients, explicit expression and the weight function for these polynomials are obtained.

On the Galois Group of Legendre polynomials
La presente monografía está basada en el artículo On the Galois groups of Legendre polynomials de John Cullinan y Garshid Hajir y pretende estudiar algunas propiedades algebraicas que los autores utilizan para ver cuál es el grupo de Galois de los ...

In this paper, we propose a numerical scheme based on the shifted Legendre polynomials for solving the forced Korteweg–de Vries (fKdV) equation including a Caputo fractional operator of a distributed order. To obtain numerical solutions of these types of

COMPACTLY SUPPORTED WAVELETS DERIVED FROM LEGENDRE POLYNOMIALS: SPHERICAL HARMONIC WAVELETS
: A new family of wavelets is introduced, which is associated with Legendre polynomials. These wavelets, termed spherical harmonic or Legendre wavelets, possess compact support.
