A short note on the buoyant force in nonuniform gravitational fields [PDF]
arXiv, 2022 Lima and Monteiro [1] derived the buoyant force in a nonuniform gravitational field by applying a gradient version of the divergence theorem to the surface integral of the pressure forces [2]. Here it is outlined an alternate approach in the framework of fluid mechanics, based on the energy formulations of the equations of state for compressible fluids.

n. 4, 4301 (2014), 2014 I put forward a simple unidimensional mechanical analogue of the three-dimensional universe models of modern relativistic cosmology. The main goal of the proposal is the appropriate appreciation of the intrinsic relationship between Hubble's law and the homogeneity of expanding relativistic models.

Einstein's static universe [PDF]
Revista Brasileira de Ensino de Fisica, v. 34, n. 1, 1302 (2012), 2012 Einstein's static model is the first relativistic cosmological model. The model is static, finite and of spherical spatial symmetry. I use the solution of Einstein's field equations in a homogeneous and isotropic universe -- Friedmann's equation -- to calculate the radius of curvature of the model (also known as "Einstein's universe").
