Culturally Safe Assistive Technology Provision in Australia: Concept Mapping Perspectives From Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Disparities in Assistive Technology (AT) access exist for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples despite recent policy reforms. This paper brings together First Nations and Western academic ways of being, knowing and doing to deliver an AT practice analysis based upon primary data from two research reports into the cultural safety of AT

Molecule by Molecule Characterization of a Polymer Molecular Mass Distribution via Mass Photometry

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Mass photometry (MP) was utilized to achieve label‐free, molecule‐by‐molecule measurement of the full polymer molecular mass distribution (MMD) of a synthetic polymer without the need for sample fractionation. The ability to elucidate the full MMD in minutes, as opposed to having only specific moments of the MMD acquired in hours via chromatography ...

Fast Ultra‐Selective 1H‐15N 1D NMR Spectroscopy Unlocks Atom‐Resolved Dynamics of Low‐Complexity Protein Regions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
NMR 15N spin‐relaxation rates are a primary source of information for deciphering protein conformational dynamics, but they require unreasonable experimental times when their 1H‐15N 2D spectra are highly congested. We propose an ultra‐selective method, SNIPER, that greatly accelerates data collection of individual residues. This allows characterization

Mucin Glycoprotein Nanoparticles Enable a Selective Antisense Therapy for Oncogenic MicroRNAs

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Mucin glycoproteins are turned into nanoparticles by employing synthetic DNA strands, which have a dual function: they stabilize the nanoparticles and act as binding sites for intracellular miRNA‐21. Thus, upon internalization into tumor cells, these mucin nanoparticles can deplete miRNA‐21 from the cytosol, which induces apoptosis in vitro and in vivo.
