In this paper, a lengthwise fracture analysis of a viscoplastic inhomogeneous cantilever beam of circular cross-section acted upon by a torsion moment is presented. The beam is with an arbitrary number of concentric lengthwise cracks. The time-dependent mechanical behaviour of the beam is treated by a viscoplastic model representing a series of units ...

A Global/Local approach to lengthwise cracked beams: dynamic analysis
International Journal of Fracture, 1993A simple model is developed for the calculation of dynamic stress intensity factors for lengthwise cracked beams subjected to impact or transient loading. The model is based on a Global/Local approach that separates the Global structural dynamics from the Local crack tip zone dominated by singular stresses.
