Label‐Free Molecular Characterization of Protein Aggregates in Differentiated Astrocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mid‐infrared photothermal microscopy enables label‐free structural, molecular, and functional imaging of protein aggregates in astrocyte cells. The processes of astrocytes differentiated on a nanomaterial interface are characterized by α‐helical signatures combined with enhanced interfacial thermal resistance properties, while the cell soma of non ...

Inhomogeneous Beam of Circular Cross-Section with Concentric Lengthwise Cracks: A Fracture Analysis with Considering Viscoplastic Behaviour

Defect and Diffusion Forum, 2022
In this paper, a lengthwise fracture analysis of a viscoplastic inhomogeneous cantilever beam of circular cross-section acted upon by a torsion moment is presented. The beam is with an arbitrary number of concentric lengthwise cracks. The time-dependent mechanical behaviour of the beam is treated by a viscoplastic model representing a series of units ...

Load-Carrying Capacity of Lengthwise Cracked Wood Beams Retrofitted by Self-Tapping Screws

Journal of Structural Engineering, 2017
AbstractLongitudinal cracks in wood beams of heavy timber structures are commonly seen and can impair the load-carrying capacity of such beams.

A Global/Local approach to lengthwise cracked beams: dynamic analysis

International Journal of Fracture, 1993
A simple model is developed for the calculation of dynamic stress intensity factors for lengthwise cracked beams subjected to impact or transient loading. The model is based on a Global/Local approach that separates the Global structural dynamics from the Local crack tip zone dominated by singular stresses.
