Intraluminal Deposits Found in Glaucoma Tube Shunts Via Anterior Segment Ocular Coherence Tomography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
PURPOSE: To describe and characterize a novel observation of intraluminal deposits of glaucoma tube shunts (TS) using spectral domain (SD) ocular coherence topography (OCT).

Lens densitometry after corneal cross-linking in patients with keratoconus using a Scheimpflug camera

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmic & Vision Research, 2015
Purpose: To evaluate changes in crystalline lens densitometry following corneal cross-linking (CXL) in keratoconic patients. Methods: In a quasi-experimental study, three-dimensional lens densitometry was performed using the Pentacam Scheimpflug camera ...

Unilateral Congenital Lenticular Pigmentation

open access: yesCase Reports in Ophthalmology, 2023
Introduction: Release of pigments in the anterior chamber is frequently observed in pigment dispersion syndrome, an autosomal dominant disorder marked by bilateral pigment deposition on the anterior and possibly posterior lens capsule, zonules of the ...

Objective vs subjective vault measurement after myopic implantable collamer lens implantation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
PURPOSE: To evaluate the relationship between subjective measurements of vault and objective values measured with Visante optical coherence tomography (OCT) in eyes receiving an implantable contact lens (ICL) for myopia correction. DESIGN: Observational

A case of morgagnian cataract mimicking an iris tumor

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports, 2020
Purpose: To report, with the aid of original imaging, an unusual differential diagnosis of an iris tumor. Observations: A 60-year-old Caucasian man visited our clinic with a large amelanotic iris mass in the left eye in the absence of concomitant ...

Digital Actuation Control of Soft Robotic Origami With Self‐Folding Liquid Crystal Elastomer Hinges

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐folding soft‐rigid hybrid robotic origami is enabled by liquid crystal elastomer actuators with embedded Joule heating and closed‐loop digital control. Digitally addressable hinges provide reversible and programmable transitions between distinct folded states while maintaining actuation performance at high cycle counts (over 1500).

N-acetylhistidine, a novel osmolyte in the lens of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Volume homeostasis is essential for the preservation of lens transparency and this is of particular significance to anadromous fish species where migration from freshwater to seawater presents severe osmotic challenges. In Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.)

V. On the connexion between the suspensory ligament of the crystalline lens and the lens capsule [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of London, 1891
I have not been able to get a too precise statement as to the nature of this connexion, but Quain (9th ed.) says the suspensory ligament is of "firmly attached' to the capsule; in another place Quain says it joins it. Speaking of “suspensory fibres of the lens,” Quain says that some of these “pass into continuity with the posterior capsule”.

Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Crystal Growth: A General Framework for Anisotropic Crystal Growth in Cu‐Based Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Growth (CMDLG) framework is established to rationalize the anisotropic growth of lead‐free perovskites. Integrating coordination chemistry with mass transport kinetics, this study theoretically derives and experimentally validates that stable iodocuprate complexes induce a diffusion‐limited regime.

Toward new engagement paradigms for intraocular lenses: Light-initiated bonding of capsular bag to lens materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
8 págs.; 5 figs.© 2015 The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Inc. PURPOSE. Successful intraocular lens procedures, that is, implantation of accommodating intraocular lenses (A-IOL), require firm engagement of the IOL haptics to the ...
