Management of the Subluxed Crystalline Lens
Ophthalmology, 1992There has been a traditional reluctance to remove a subluxed (ectopic) lens because of the high surgical risk. The use of closed intraocular microsurgical techniques, however, now allows greater intraoperative control with few complications. The authors present the results of subluxed lens extraction, by limbal or pars plana lensectomy, in 44 eyes of ...

LENS SUBLUXATION IN HOMOCYSTINURIA
Acta Ophthalmologica, 1984A 6‐year‐old girl had bilaterally subluxated lenses and liver and platelet dysfunctions. A cyanide‐nitroprusside test of the urine was positive. Serum and urinary levels of methionine and homocystine were high. Cystathionine synthetase activity in the cultured skin fibroblasts was negligible.

Lens Subluxation as a Complication of Cyclocryotherapy
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1989ABSTRACT There are many well known complications of cyclocryotherapy. This case represents what we believe to be the first report of cyclocryotherapy leading to lens subluxation. The patient was a 14-year-old boy with a history of ocular trauma that had resulted in intractable glaucoma.

Management of the subluxated crystalline lens
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2013The surgical management of ectopia lentis presents the ophthalmic surgeon with numerous challenges and options. From the clinical evaluation to the surgical approach, ectopia lentis patients require additional methodologies, techniques, and devices to ensure the best possible outcome.

Iridoschisis associated with lens subluxation
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2001The etiopathogenesis of iridoschisis is unclear, although age-related degeneration and angle-closure glaucoma are its most common associations. We report the case of a 50-year-old man with lens subluxation (familial) in 1 eye and ipsilateral iridoschisis. The inferotemporal edge of the lens was directed anteriorly, pushing the iris forward; this led to

Subluxated lens: Phacoemulsification with iris hooks
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2003We describe a technique to manage subluxated cataracts with the use of 4 or 5 disposable nylon iris hooks placed on the capsulorhexis edge to support the lens and stabilize the capsular bag during phacoemulsification. The use of an endocapsular tension ring provides excellent centration of the capsular bag, enabling endocapsular intraocular lens (IOL ...
