Preliminary analysis and design of an optical space surveillance and tracking constellation for LEO coverage

open access: yes
Accurately tracking space debris and operational satellites is the foundation of the long-term sustainability of space operations. To improve upon some of the inherent limitations of ground radars, a constellation of satellites carrying optical sensors ...

Advancing Tandem Organic Solar Cells With Ternary Acceptor Control for High‐Power Modules and Solar‐to‐Ammonia Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tandem organic solar cells with optimized ternary acceptor engineering achieved a power conversion efficiency of 15.53% and enabled a high‐voltage mini‐module (Voc 6.11 V). Integration into a bias‐free PV‐EC system further demonstrated efficient solar‐to‐ammonia (STA) conversion (97% Faradaic Efficiency, 4± 2% STA efficiency), highlighting scalable ...

Heterogeneous Satellite Constellation Design for Cislunar Space Situational Awareness Using Real Options Analysis

open access: yes, 2023
The number of commercial satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) increased more than four-fold in the decade between 2011 and 2021, a trend that is likely to continue due to the combination of increasingly capable technologies and business models [23] [24 ...

Self-organising LEO small satellite constellation for 5G MTC and IoT applications

open access: yes, 2020
: Small satellite constellations are an attractive alternative to provide ubiquitous connectivity to Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G machine-type communication (MTC) applications in areas where terrestrial network coverage is limited. In order to provide

Pull‐and‐Push Nanotherapeutic Hydrogels: Scavenging Inflammatory Triggers While Driving Tissue Regeneration in Burn Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A nanounit‐assembled hydrogel employing a “pull‐and‐push” strategy simultaneously scavenges pro‐inflammatory cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and delivers regenerative therapeutics in response to burn‐induced hyperthermia. By repolarizing macrophages and promoting angiogenesis, this multifunctional platform accelerates burn wound healing, offering a blueprint for

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Mercator Projection Superposition: A Computationally Efficient Alternative to Grid-Based Coverage Analysis for LEO Mega-Constellations

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Grid point approaches for LEO mega-constellation coverage analysis become computationally prohibitive for constellations exceeding 103 satellites due to exponential complexity growth.

Vorticity‐Driven µ‐Platelet Rotation and Selective Packing for Vertical Thermal–Electrical Interconnects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a capillary‐filtering‐based particle‐filling (CFPF) process that simultaneously forms vertical thermal pathways and electrical vias within µ‐pores. In situ microfluidic analysis reveals that capillary‐driven velocity gradients generate vorticity that governs µ‐platelet rotation and vertical alignment.

Optimal Satellite LEO Constellation Design Based on Global Coverage in One Revisit Time

open access: yes, 2019
This paper presents a globe coverage of constellation satellite in one revisit and the regional coverage at defined latitude. This constellation seems to be very close to optimal under the maximum revisit time comparing to the results in other papers ...
