Performance Analysis of LEO Satellite Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We present an analytical model for computing call blocking probabilities in a LEO satellite network that carries voice calls. Both satellite-fixed and earth-fixed constellations with inter-orbit links and hand-offs are considered. The model is analyzed approximately by decomposing it into sub-systems.

A Modified Regular Perturbation Model for the Single-Span Fiber Transmission Using Learnable Methods

open access: yesPhotonics
In fiber optic communication systems, the dispersion and nonlinear interaction of optical signals are critical to modeling fiber optic communication, and the regular perturbation (RP) model is a simplified modeling method composed of parallel branches ...

Resource Allocation for LEO Beam-Hopping Satellites in a Spectrum Sharing Scenario

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In recent years, low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation systems have been developed rapidly. However, the scarcity of satellite spectrum resources has become one of the major obstacles to this trend.

Real-Time LEO Satellite Orbits Based on Batch Least-Squares Orbit Determination with Short-Term Orbit Prediction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The augmentation of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) by Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites is proposed as an effective method to improve the precision and shorten the convergence time of Precise Point Positioning (PPP).

Satellite handover techniques for LEO networks [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, 2004
AbstractLow earth orbit satellite constellations could play an important role in future mobile communication networks due to their characteristics, such as global coverage and low propagation delays. However, because of the non‐stationarity of the satellites, a call may be subjected to handovers, which can be cell or satellite handovers.

FDG‐PET Associations With Disease Severity and Outcomes in NMDA‐Receptor IgG Autoimmune Encephalitis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with N‐methyl‐D‐aspartate (NMDA) receptor‐immunoglobulin G (IgG) autoimmune encephalitis (NMDAR‐IgG AE) demonstrate occipital lobe hypometabolism on baseline brain fluorodeoxyglucose‐positron emission tomography (bFDG‐PET).
