The Arithmetic of al-Uqlidisi, entitled Kitab al-Fusul fi al-Hisab al-Hindi (The Book of Chapters on Hindu Reckoning), was probably a mathematical source for the Liber Abaci. It is likely, in fact, that Fibonacci used the Arabic treatise not only as a reservoir of knowledge, but also for linguistic purposes.
