Some infinite series summations involving linear recurrence relations of order 2 and 3 [PDF]
This paper extends known results of second and third order recursive sequences through extensive formulations of properties of the roots of their characteristic equations, some are old but most are new. They are applied to novel studies of Σₙ₌ₒ^∞ aₘₙ/10ⁿ⁺

Rational Krylov for Stieltjes matrix functions: convergence and pole selection
Evaluating the action of a matrix function on a vector, that is $x=f(\mathcal M)v$, is an ubiquitous task in applications. When $\mathcal M$ is large, one usually relies on Krylov projection methods.

Strategies against nonsense: oxadiazoles as translational readthrough-inducing drugs (TRIDs) [PDF]
This review focuses on the use of oxadiazoles as translational readthrough-inducing drugs (TRIDs) to rescue the functional full-length protein expression in mendelian genetic diseases caused by nonsense mutations.

In this paper, we present two new results of layered permutation densities. The first one generalizes theorems from H\"{a}st\"{o} (2003) and Warren (2004) to compute the permutation packing of permutations whose layer sequence is~$(1^a,\ell_1,\ell_2 ...

The Fibonacci sequence and the nature of mathematical discovery: A semiotic perspective
This study looks at the relation between mathematical discovery and semiosis, focusing on the famous Fibonacci sequence. The serendipitous discovery of this sequence as the answer to a puzzle designed by Italian mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci to ...

Nucleotide Frequencies in Human Genome and Fibonacci Numbers [PDF]
This work presents a mathematical model that establishes an interesting connection between nucleotide frequencies in human single-stranded DNA and the famous Fibonacci's numbers. The model relies on two assumptions.

On the Leonardo quaternions sequence
In the present work, a new sequence of quaternions related to the Leonardo numbers -- named the Leonardo quaternions sequence -- is defined and studied. Binet's formula and certain sum and binomial-sum identities, some of which derived from the mentioned formula, are established.

Chern classes of Schubert cells and varieties
We give explicit formulas for the Chern-Schwartz-MacPherson classes of all Schubert varieties in the Grassmannian of $d$-planes in a vector space, and conjecture that these classes are effective.
