In three successive papers, Zerny (1939, 1940a, b) catalogued the specimens collected during his expedition to Iran. His description of the external appearance of Ypsolopha nervosella was very short (Zerny 1940b). He mentioned that Y. nervosella was similar to Y. instabilella (Mann, 1866) collected in the same location.

The male and female genitalia of Carcharodus boeticus stauderi Rev. are described and figured. The function of various parts of the genitalia is described and discussed. It appears that the eighth abdominal sternite of the female has to attain a vertical position to enable the aedeagus to penetrate into the ostium bursae.

The valves and particularly the phallic apparatus showed some morphologically very primitive traits, which place it close to the hitherto hypothetical intermediate form in respect of the formation of an aedoeagus from the valvellae.
