Abstract Background Dentitions have diversified enormously during vertebrate evolution, involving reductions, modifications, or allocations to prey seizing and processing regions. The Mesozoic actinopterygian fish Amiopsis has been reported from three different localities in the Iberian Peninsula. Amiopsis woodwardi was described from the Berriasian–Valanginian of El Montsec (Lérida, Spain).

A new genus and new species of ginglymodian is described from the Aptian Grès supérieurs Formation of the Savannakhet Basin, Laos (Lao People's Democratic Republic), found at the Ban Lamthouay locality. The fish is known from a single isolated head, which shows enough diagnostic characters to characterize a new taxon.

Abstract This paper presents the discovery of †Gondwanacanthus decollatus, a new genus and species of Early Cretaceous deep‐bodied fish from the late Barremian or early Aptian Morro do Chaves Formation in the Sergipe–Alagoas Basin, northeastern Brazil. It represents the first record of Acanthomorpha in Early Cretaceous Gondwana.
