Chromosomes of Leptodactylidae (Amphibia anura)
Experientia, 1968Se estudiaron los cariotipos de 23 especies de la familia sudamericana Leptodactylidae (anfibios anuros), no hallandose cromosomas sexuales citologicamente diferenciados.

Family Leptodactylidae Werner, 1896 (1838) Remarks: This family has undergone a massive change of its member taxa since the widespread use of molecular data. Prior to 2004, the nomenclature was quite stable, but Darst and Cannatella (2004) demonstrated Leptodactylidae to be paraphyletic. After several revisions of the major clades of Amphibia (Frost et

Karyotypes of Leptodactylidae Anurans
Journal of Herpetology, 1972Karyotypes of 8 species of Leptodactylidae amphibians were studied. They constitute two groups with 2n=22 and 2n=26 chromosomes. Centric fusions and pericentric inversions are the most important mechanisms of karyotype differentiation among these species. Cytophotometric measurements of 7 species showed a gradual increase of DNA content. * * *

Sperm morphology of Batrachyla (Anura: Leptodactylidae)
Amphibia-Reptilia, 1989Abstract The structure of immature and mature sperm of the three species of Batrachyla were compared by using smears for light microscopy and ultrathin sections for transmission electron microscopy. Minor differences in length and some ultrastructural details support the notion that B. antartandica and B, taeniata are more closely related to

New chromosome numbers in Australian Leptodactylidae (Amphibia, Salientia)

Heteromorphic sex chromosomes inEupsophus insularis (Amphibia: Anura: Leptodactylidae)
Chromosome Research, 1996The chromosomes of the Chilean frog Eupsophus insularis are described for the first time. This species has a chromosome number of 2n = 30, and based on the karyotype it is concluded that E. insularis is closely related to E. migueli. E. insularis has an XX/XY system of sex determination, and pericentromeric constitutive heterochromatin is present in ...
