Impact of Thermal Weathering on Mercury's Reflectance

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 9, 16 May 2025.
Abstract MErcury Surface, Space ENviroment, GEochemistry, and Ranging (MESSENGER) observations suggest that sulfur‐bearing minerals are key components of Mercury's surface. These minerals have been proposed to explain the strong concave downward curvature between 300 and 600 nm in MESSENGER reflectance spectra of the hollows.

Synthesis of High‐Surface‐Area Alumina using Carbon Templating and Liquid Phase Atomic Layer Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 11, Issue 36, December 20, 2024.
The research explores the use of atomic layer deposition to coat activated carbon with alumina. By applying high‐temperature thermal treatment and calcination to remove the carbon template, high surface area alpha alumina is produced. The study also investigates the deposition of other metal oxides using the same method.
