Numerical Study of Vortex Structure in the Shear Layer between Swirling Backflow and Axial Main Flow
The present paper treats the backflow vortex structure observed at the turbomachinery inlet at reduced flow rate. It is caused by the roll-up of the shear layer between swirling backflow and axial main flow.

LncRNA expression in idiopathic achalasia: New insight and preliminary exploration into pathogenesis
Idiopathic achalasia is a primary esophageal motility disorder characterized by the absence of esophageal peristalsis and impaired relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). However, the pathogenesis of idiopathic achalasia remains unclear.

Large-scale LES analysis for aerodynamics of a group of racing bicycles by lattice Boltzmann method
We implement and perform large-scale LES analysis for running groups of cyclists. The mesh-refined lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) and coherent-structure Smagorinsky model (CSM) are adopted for the simulations to achieve a high performance computing on ...

Thermo-hydraulic effects of vortex generator pairs in a crossflow channel with a transverse-jet flow
The use ofpassive obstacles to control the hydraulic and thermal behavior of fluids is anapplication in many industrial mechanisms. In this study, flow and thermaloscillation behaviors in a crossflow channel with a transverse jet flow wereinvestigated ...

Geometry factor obtained from wall heat transfer coefficient in high Reynolds number elbow flow
Flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) is one of the causes for wall thinning mechanisms in carbon steel pipes. Prediction of geometry factor is the key elements for estimation of FAC.
