Biology of brinjal shoot and fruit borer, Leucinodes orbonalis (Guenee.)

Journal of Entomological Research, 2022
AbstractBiology of brinjal shoot and fruit borer Leucinodes orbonalis (Guenee.) revealed that single female could lay around 170 eggs. Incubation period of the eggs varied from 4.25 - 4.60 days. Total larval and pupal period range on an average ranged between 13.79 - 14.19 and 6.30 - 7.90 days, respectively.

STUDY OF DIFFERENT HOST PLANTS SUITABLE FOR THE GROWTH OF LEUCINODES ORBONALIS

FLORA AND FAUNA, 2017
Different host plants (Solanum melongena, Lycopersicon esculentum , Abelmoschus esculentus , Solanum tuberosum , Solanum nigrum , Cyndon indicum , Ocimum basilicum and Solanum indicum ) affect the weight of larva on 5th , 10th and 15th day of development differently . On these plants the larval weight on 5th day varies from 2.2 to 2.8 mg. .

Female Sex Pheromone of Brinjal Fruit and Shoot Borer, Leucinodes orbonalis Blend Optimization

Journal of Chemical Ecology, 2001
The brinjal fruit and shoot borer, Leucinodes orbonalis is the major pest of eggplant in South Asia. Analysis of female pheromone gland extracts prepared from insects of Indian and Taiwanese origin confirmed (E)-11-hexadecenyl acetate (E11-16:Ac) as the major pheromone component with 0.8 to 2.8% of the related (E)-11-hexadecen-1-ol (E11-16:OH), as ...

Profenophos Resistance in Brinjal Shoot and Fruit Borer Leucinodes Orbonalis Guenee

Indian Journal of Entomology
The present experiment was carried out in Tamil Nadu to investigate the level of profenophos resistance in Leucinodes orbonalis Guenee populations from different locations. The median lethal concentration (LC50) values was observed to vary from 54.72 to 287.83 ppm, with Dharmapuri and Theni exhibiting moderate resistance (LC50 of 287.83 and 251.65 ppm,

Screening of Brinjal Varieties for Resistance Against Leucinodes orbonalis Guenee Infestation

UTTAR PRADESH JOURNAL OF ZOOLOGY
In the experimental study, 10 brinjal varieties were examined under the field conditions against the incidence of shoot and fruit borer in Gurugram, Haryana, during kharif season 2024-2025. None of the varieties was totally resistant to the infestation by shoot and fruit borer, according to a comparative analysis of the various brinjal varieties. Among

Laboratory Bioassays to Study the Efficacy of Diamides against Leucinodes orbonalis (Guenee) of Brinjal

Journal of Experimental Agriculture International
This study was undertaken with the objectives to investigate the toxicity of insecticides against larval stage of L. orbonalis in the laboratory. Management stratagies of the pest requires frequent spraying of chemical insecticides. Due to continuous spraying of insecticides L.
