Equilibrium Adsorption Values of Leuco Vat Dyes on Cotton
Journal of the Society of Dyers and Colourists, 1957The equilibrium adsorption of a series of leuco vat dyes on cotton has been measured in various concentrations of sodium chloride and sodium hydroxide. From the results the thermodynamic affinities have been calculated. Deviations from theory are observed in so far as the affinities are not constant, but show a regular drift as the concentration of ...

ChemInform Abstract: AROMATIC ALDEHYDE‐LEUCO DYE PHOTOXIDATION

The analysis of indigoid dyes as leuco forms by NMR spectroscopy*
Coloration Technology, 20001H and 13C NMR spectra of halogen‐ and alkoxy‐substituted indigoid dyes (indigotins), and of some unknown deuterated indigotins as leuco forms (i.e., reduced forms or ‘vats’), in deuterium oxide are recorded and discussed. NMR spectroscopy is a useful technique for the identification and characterisation of this traditional class of vat dyes.

The Chemistry of Fluoran Leuco Dyes
2005In our information-oriented society, computer and facsimile are being widely used as a means for transmitting information. Carbonless copying papers and thermosensitive recording papers, which utilize a color-formation reaction between leuco dyes and acidic compounds, have won high regard as recording papers used with these office machines.

Importance of Solvent Polarity in the Equilibrium Reaction of Leuco Dye and Developer
Chemistry Letters, 2006Abstract The absorbance of the leuco dye and developer solution system showed a maximum by the change of solvent polarity, and a clear correlation between the ratio of coloring species at the maximum and the dielectric constant of polar solvents has been revealed.

Molecular Structures of the Coloring Species of a Leuco Dye with Phenolic Color Developers
Chemistry Letters, 2007Abstract We have isolated the coloring species of a leuco dye colored by three phenolic color developers and have revealed their molecular structures by X-ray crystallographic analysis for the first time: one leuco dye molecule combined with one developer molecule by the hydrogen bonds between the carboxylate anion of a leuco dye and the

Abstract A one-phase, one-reagent, spectrophotometric technique is reported for the detection and determination of anionic surfactants of the sulfonate and sulfate types. Both applications are based on conversion of the colorless leuco-bases of triphenylmethane dyes (Brilliant Green and methyl violet) to colored (quinoid) forms by the anionic ...
