Extreme Peripheral Blood Plasmacytosis Mimicking Plasma Cell Leukemia as a Presenting Feature of Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma (AITL). [PDF]
Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) is one of four major subtypes of nodal peripheral T cell lymphoma, characterized by its cell of origin, the follicular helper T-cell (TFH).

Virus-transformed pre-B cells show ordered activation but not inactivation of immunoglobulin gene rearrangement and transcription [PDF]
Virus-transformed pre-B cells undergo ordered immunoglobulin (Ig) gene rearrangements during culture. We devised a series of highly sensitive polymerase chain reaction assays for Ig gene rearrangement and unrearranged Ig gene segment transcription to ...

Tissue‐Resident Myeloid and Histiocytic Cells in Health and Disease: Novel Emerging Concepts
ABSTRACT Although all myeloid cells are considered to derive from hematopoietic stem cells, the cells in each myeloid lineage are heterogeneous populations, and their distribution and functions vary, depending on underlying physiologic and pathologic processes, age, sex, and genetic and epigenetic signatures.

Indirect induction of radiation lymphomas in mice. Evidence for a novel, transmissible leukemogen. [PDF]
The transmission of a lymphomagenic agent(s) from the bone marrow of irradiated mice to thymic target cells has been demonstrated by: (a) the induction of T cell lymphomas in nonirradiated thymic grafts implanted in irradiated, Thy-l-congenic mice, (b ...

CD30 as a Target Molecule in the Diagnosis and Therapy of Lymphomas
ABSTRACT The tumor necrosis factor (TNF)‐receptor superfamily 8 receptor CD30 molecule is expressed in all tumor cells of Hodgkin lymphoma and anaplastic large cell lymphoma but is only weakly expressed in a small subset of large lymphoid cells in normal peripheral lymphoid tissues.

Combination Therapy for Chronic Lymphoid Leukemia [PDF]
For decades, the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) has relied on cytotoxic drugs with incremental benefit from anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies. However, in the past 5 years, targeted drugs have fundamentally changed the management and outcome of ...

In cancer cells, the induction of DNA replication stress by HU activates CHK1 by autophosphorylation. This leads to cell cycle arrest and recruits the DNA repair protein WRN to promote DNA repair and cell survival. In such cells, addition of the CHK1 inhibitor 9a propels DNA damage and apoptosis.

B-1 progenitor acute lymphoid leukemia [PDF]
In this issue of Blood, Yin et al demonstrated that engineered BCL6 interacting corepressor protein (Bcor) mutation in hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells of sensitized mice induced acute lymphoid leukemia (ALL) of B-1 progenitor phenotype, which has been recently identified by them.
