[Disorders in leukocyte function in diabetes mellitus].
Schweizerische medizinische Wochenschrift, 1978A group of diabetic patients have been analyzed with regard to their defense against infection, i.e. chemotaxis, phagocytosis and bacterial killing. All three steps of leukocyte function are deteriorated in diabetes mellitus. However, no definitive statement on defense against infection can at present be made.
