Level Selection for a Level Crossing Receiver

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1973
In this paper a technique for setting the level in a levelcrossing detector is discussed. Experimental verification of this method is given along with measurements of receiver performance.

Smart level crossing

2018 16th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems Telecommunications (ITST), 2018
The aim of the smart level crossing project is to improve the safety of rail and road systems without compromising the regularity of trains. The LC must become interactive with its environment by integrating new communication technologies with the train and road users.

Opportunistic Sampling by Level-Crossing

2007 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing - ICASSP '07, 2007
Level-crossing A/D converters (LCA/D) have been considered in the literature and have been shown to efficiently sample certain classes of signals. In this paper we provide a stable algorithm to perfectly reconstruct signals of finite rate of innovation using level-crossing samples.

Chaos and avoided level crossings

Physical Review E, 1994
The influence of chaos on tunneling in the quantum phase space of the harmonically driven pendulum is studied herein. We analyze the avoided level crossing between a quasienergy state associated with the chaotic part of the phase space and a member of the nearly degenerate doublet localized on the symmetric Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser (KAM) islands.

Adaptation architectures cross levels

Proceedings of the 2nd international workshop on Ultra-large-scale software-intensive systems, 2008
To design ULS systems with the adaptive capacity they will need to be viable, requires that we broaden our understanding of software architecture. It is not just the software that must adapt, but the human-technical systems that produce and operate it.

Derivative Level-Crossing Sampling

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2015
A new continuous-time level-crossing sampling LCS technique, which is called derivative LCS (DLCS), and associated reconstruction are proposed for bandpass signals. The derivative of the input is level-crossing sampled, and the result is transmitted; at the receiver, these samples are zero-order held and integrated, automatically resulting in piecewise-

On Level Crossings and Cycles in Dam Processes

Mathematics of Operations Research, 1977
The classical dam with input according to a process with stationary, independent increments and output at unit rate is considered. The stochastic properties of level crossings, i.e. up- and downcrossings of a fixed level x > 0 are studied. It is shown that successive downcrossings of any such level constitute a renewal process with a.s.
