NUCLEAR LEVEL DENSITY AT FINITE TEMPERATURES

International Journal of Modern Physics E, 2006
Selfconsistent mean-field calculations have been performed with the SkM* Skyrme force for 140 spherical even-even nuclei at temperatures 0≤T≤4 MeV . Single-particle level densities for this sample of nuclei are determined for various temperatures. The average dependence of the single-particle level density on mass number A and isospin is given and ...

Temperature dependence of the level density parameter

Physical Review C, 1995
Even though the local density approximation leads to an overestimation of the absolute value of the nuclear level density parameter, we show that this simplifying approximation accurately describes the temperature dependence of Thomas-Fermi calculations of the nuclear level density parameter performed by Shlomo and Natowitz.

Test of level densities with proton resonances

Physical Review C, 1991
Differential cross sections for the {sup 48}Ti({ital p},{ital p}{sub 0}) and ({ital p},{ital p}{sub 1}) reactions were measured in the range {ital E}{sub {ital p}}=3.08--3.86 MeV with an overall resolution of about 350 eV. Resonance parameters were extracted for 716 levels with a multilevel, multichannel {ital R}-matrix code.

On the Density of Energy Levels of Heavy Nuclei

Physical Review, 1937
The present calculation of the density of energy levels of a heavy nucleus is based on the statistical model of Van Vleck. As in Bethe's calculation, the particles are assumed to move in a simple potential hole, but the depth of the hole varies with the velocity of the particle.

Level density of hot nuclei withA≤40

Physical Review C, 1991
The light charged particles emitted from hot $^{40}\mathrm{Ca}$ compound nuclei, populated at excitation energy ${\mathit{E}}_{\mathit{x}}$=94 MeV and 〈J〉=20.5\ensuremath{\Elzxh} by the reaction 130 MeV $^{16}\mathrm{O}$ on $^{24}\mathrm{Mg}$, have been studied.

Nuclear level densities and level spacing distributions

1986
Extensive and complete level schemes and neutron resonance densities of 72 nuclides have been used to determine the spin cut-off parameter, parameters for level density formulae and level spacing distributions. The level spacing distributions indicate either very different nuclear structures or the existence of a further good quantum number at low ...
