QCD Level Density from Maximum Entropy Method
We propose a method to calculate the QCD level density directly from the thermodynamic quantities obtained by lattice QCD simulations with the use of the maximum entropy method (MEM).

Parity-Dependence in the Nuclear Level Density [PDF]
Astrophysical reaction rates are sensitive to the parity distribution at low excitation energies. We combine a formula for the energy-dependent parity distribution with a microscopic-macroscopic nuclear level density.

FISSION DYNAMICS WITH MICROSCOPIC LEVEL DENSITIES [PDF]
Working within the Langevin framework of nuclear shape dynamics, we study the dependence of the evolution on the degree of excitation. As the excitation energy of the fissioning system is increased, the pairing correlations and the shell effects diminish and the effective potential-energy surface becomes ever more liquid-drop like.

N/Z influence on the level density parameter
A completely exclusive experiment was performed by the INDRA collaboration to study the isospin dependence of the level density parameter. Over a large N/Z range, the fusion-evaporation charged products of 34,36,40Ar+58,60,64Ni reactions were measured ...

Introduction Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) represents the primary lipoprotein target for reducing cardiovascular risk (CV). The aim of our study is to compare the direct and the calculated LDL-C levels in the range below 1.8 mmol/l and 2.6 ...

On the level density of spin chains of Haldane--Shastry type [PDF]
We provide a rigorous proof of the fact that the level density of all su(m) spin chains of Haldane-Shastry type associated with the A_{N-1} root system approaches a Gaussian distribution as the number of spins N tends to infinity.

Nuclear reaction models, and in particular compound nucleus reactions, require the knowledge of nuclear level densities (NLDs), among other ingredients. For decades, analytical expressions have been used in nuclear reaction codes, due to the freedom they offer to the user to modify their associated parameters in order to fit cross sections.

Parity Dependence of Nuclear Level Densities [PDF]
A simple formula for the ratio of the number of odd- and even-parity states as a function of temperature is derived. This formula is used to calculate the ratio of level densities of opposite parities as a function of excitation energy. We test the formula with quantum Monte Carlo shell model calculations in the $(pf+g_{9/2})$-shell.

Laplacian-level density functionals for the kinetic energy density and exchange-correlation energy
We construct a Laplacian-level meta-generalized gradient approximation (meta-GGA) for the non-interacting (Kohn-Sham orbital) positive kinetic energy density $\tau$ of an electronic ground state of density $n$.

Vibrational enhancement of nuclear level density [PDF]
Effect of vibrational state damping on enhancement of nuclear level density due to vibrational states is analysed. The coefficient of the nuclear level density enhancement due to the collective vibrations with allowance for quadrupole and octupole ...
