We present a new algorithm for image segmentation - Level-set KSVD. Level-set KSVD merges the methods of sparse dictionary learning for feature extraction and variational level-set method for image segmentation. Specifically, we use a generalization of the Chan-Vese functional with features learned by KSVD.

(Convex) Level Sets Integration [PDF]
The authors investigate the problem of recovering a pseudoconvex function from a multi-valued map that generates the normal cones to the (lower) level set of the function. This ``(convex) level set integration'' is a generalization of the classical problem of recovering (integrating) a differentiable function from its gradient with a given value in ...

Some comments on level sets of fuzzy sets [PDF]
This paper discusses level sets of functions from a set U into a set C with an order structure, for example a poset or a lattice. Such sets are prevalent in fuzzy set theory. We provide some general facts and then consider the particular case when C is the complete lattice of closed intervals in the unit interval [0,1]; that is, when the function is an

Confidence sets for a level set in linear regression [PDF]
Regression modeling is the workhorse of statistics and there is a vast literature on estimation of the regression function. It has been realized in recent years that in regression analysis the ultimate aim may be the estimation of a level set of the regression function, ie, the set of covariate values for which the regression function exceeds a ...

ABSTRACT Background Children with sickle cell disease (SCD) face multiple acute and chronic medical complications that may impact their quality of life as reported by patients themselves. Health‐related social needs (HRSNs), such as food and housing insecurity, are common in people with SCD, but the association between HRSNs and patient‐reported ...
