Parameter estimation of Stochastic Logistic Model : Levenberg-Marquardt Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, we estimate the drift and diffusion parameters of the stochas- tic logisticmodels for the growth of Clostridium Acetobutylicum P262 using Levenberg- Marquardt optimization method of non linear least squares.

Use of Parameter Estimation for Stereolithography Surface Finish Improvement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In order to improve Stereolithography (SLA) surface finish, a systematic approach based on estimation of process parameters is needed. In this paper, the exposure on a desired SLA build surface is formulated as a function of process parameters.

Directed Functionalization of Recombinant Spider Silk Nonwoven Membranes with Antibodies Using Non‐Canonical Amino Acids

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A recombinant spider silk protein was functionalized by incorporating genetically encoded bio‐orthogonal reactive azido‐groups. The azido‐functionalized proteins were produced in a scalable biotechnological process, and particles, films, as well as nanofibers were established as anchorage for fully functional antibodies via site‐specific bio‐orthogonal

An accelerated adaptive two-step Levenberg–Marquardt method with the modified Metropolis criterion

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
In this paper, aiming at the nonlinear equations, a new two-step Levenberg–Marquardt method was proposed. We presented a new Levenberg–Marquardt parameter to obtain the trial step. A new modified Metropolis criterion was used to adjust the upper bound of

A plethora of generalised solitary gravity-capillary water waves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The present study describes, first, an efficient algorithm for computing capillary-gravity solitary waves solutions of the irrotational Euler equations with a free surface and, second, provides numerical evidences of the existence of an infinite number ...

Powder‐to‐Film Conversion of Nickel Single‐Atom Catalysts into Binder‐Free and Resistant Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A reproducible strategy is reported for fabricating standalone thin‐film electrodes composed of CNx‐supported Ni single‐atom catalysts. The resulting binder‐free electrodes exhibit robust stability, enhanced charge transfer, and superior electrochemical performance, offering scalable opportunities for applications in electrochemistry. ABSTRACT Although

Complete determination of the orbital parameters of a system with N+1 bodies using a simple Fourier analysis of the data

open access: yes, 2015
Here we show how to determine the orbital parameters of a system composed of a star and N companions (that can be planets, brown-dwarfs or other stars), using a simple Fourier analysis of the radial velocity data of the star.

Distributed Bragg Reflector Based on Plasmonic Ag: Plasma Polymer Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a comprehensive approach for the optical design and validation of silver nanocomposite‐based Distributed Bragg Reflectors (DBRs). It describes deriving material properties (n, k) and using them to predict the performance of the deposited optical stack, as well as to characterize imperfections in the DBR deposition, or even to ...

New approach for correction of distortions in spectral line profiles in Auger electron spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
A new deconvolution method for Auger electron spectroscopy is presented. This method is based on a non-linear least squares minimizing routine (Levenberg-Marquardt) and global approximation using splines, solving many of the drawbacks inherent to the Van

Continuum Mechanics Modeling of Flexible Spring Joints in Surgical Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A new mechanical model of a tendon‐actuated helical extension spring joint in surgical robots is built using Cosserat rod theory. The model can implicitly handle the unknown contacts between adjacent coils and numerically predict spring shapes from straight to significantly bent under actuation forces.
