A pH-based pedotransfer function for scaling saturated hydraulic conductivity reduction: improved estimation of hydraulic dynamics in HYDRUS [PDF]
Hydraulic conductivity is a key soil property governing agricultural production and is thus an important parameter in hydrologic modeling. The pH scaling factor for saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks) reduction in the HYDRUS model was reviewed and ...

Enhancement of Electrical Parameter Extraction from Solar Cells Using a Hybrid Genetic Algorithm with the Levenberg-Marquardt Method [PDF]
Accurate modeling and simulation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are critical for optimizing their performance and efficiency. This requires precise determination of electrical parameters of solar cells, such as photocurrent (Iph), saturation current (

Efficient computation of capillary-gravity generalized solitary waves [PDF]
This paper is devoted to the computation of capillary-gravity solitary waves of the irrotational incompressible Euler equations with free surface. The numerical study is a continuation of a previous work in several points: an alternative formulation of ...

Non‐linear calibration optimisation based on the Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm [PDF]
An outstanding calibration algorithm is the most important factor that affects the precision of attitude measurement. This study proposes a non‐linear optimisation algorithm to refine the solutions of the initial guess obtained using the Zhang's technique, the Bouget's technique, or the Hartley's algorithm.

Non-linear optimization of the material constants in Ogden's strain-energy function for incompressible isotropic elastic materials [PDF]
The Levenberg—Marquardt non—linear least squares optimization algorithm is adapted to compute the material constants in Ogden' s strain—energy function for incompressible isotropic elastic materials. In previous papers, three terms have been included in

Effect of Ductile Damage Evolution in Sheet Metal Forming: Experimental and Numerical Investigations [PDF]
The numerical simulation based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) is widely used in academic institutes and in the industry. It is a useful tool to predict many phenomena present in the classical manufacturing forming processes such as necking, fracture,

Continuum Mechanics Modeling of Flexible Spring Joints in Surgical Robots
A new mechanical model of a tendon‐actuated helical extension spring joint in surgical robots is built using Cosserat rod theory. The model can implicitly handle the unknown contacts between adjacent coils and numerically predict spring shapes from straight to significantly bent under actuation forces.

A plethora of generalised solitary gravity-capillary water waves [PDF]
The present study describes, first, an efficient algorithm for computing capillary-gravity solitary waves solutions of the irrotational Euler equations with a free surface and, second, provides numerical evidences of the existence of an infinite number ...

Biological rhythms coordinate physiology, from genes to behavior. Study of circadian rhythms in brain tissue is constrained by limited throughput and spatial and temporal information quality. A new platform for high‐throughput, long‐term multiplexed fluorescent live imaging of circadian rhythms in brain slices is introduced.
