Abstract Remaining useful life (RUL) analysis of equipment prevents failures and assists in maintenance to address impending failures. To achieve this, the advancement of degradation can be measured through a determinant variable. This work presents a new methodology for estimating the number of remaining cycles (NRC), or RUL, of equipment in cyclic ...

Neural Network Models for Solar Irradiance Forecasting in Polluted Areas: A Comparative Study
Pollution‐aware hybrid ensemble model is proposed to forecast solar irradiance across eight diverse cities. The model integrates MLP, RNN, and NARX to handle varying atmospheric pollution levels. The model outperforms state‐of‐the‐art methods with enhanced accuracy and interpretability on standard solar irradiance data set.

ABSTRACT Background In patients with metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), non‐Gaussian diffusion—weighted imaging (DWI) has been proposed for the diagnosis of liver fibrosis, but its measurement is partially confounded by steatosis.

3D Whole‐Heart Joint T1/T1ρ Mapping and Water‐Fat Imaging on a Clinical 0.55‐T Low‐Field Scanner
A 3D joint T1/T1ρ$$ \rho $$ mapping sequence was proposed at 0.55 T. Four interleaved T1 and T1ρ$$ \rho $$ encoded 3D volumes are acquired; images are reconstructed with nonrigid respiratory motion‐correction, low‐rank patch‐based denoising (HD‐PROST) and water‐fat separation; and T1/T1ρ$$ \rho $$ maps are estimated through dictionary matching.

Abstract The Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) instrument provides continuous, high‐resolution observations of atmospheric pollutants over North America from geostationary orbit. This study introduces an on‐orbit spectral calibration algorithm implemented in the TEMPO Version 3 Level 0–1 processor, covering both operational ...

Abstract Throughout Gale crater on Mars, the Curiosity rover has found high abundances (15–73 wt%) of X‐ray amorphous materials in the rocks and sediments. The composition of this amorphous fraction is primarily calculated by subtracting crystalline abundances measured by the Chemistry & Mineralogy X‐Ray Diffractometer (CheMin) from bulk elemental ...

Ensemble Methods for History Matching and Uncertainty Quantification With a Watershed Model
ABSTRACT History matching of large hydrologic models is challenging due to data sparsity and non‐unique process combinations (and associated parameters) that can produce similar model predictions. We develop an ensemble‐based history matching (and uncertainty quantification) approach using an iterative ensemble smoother (iES) method for three cutouts ...

A mechanistic porous‐medium model of pork loin roasting integrates heat and mass transfer with protein denaturation and anisotropy, predicting temperature, moisture, and swelling pressure. Dripping, rather than evaporation, is identified as the primary cause of weight loss, and the effects of oven humidity and anisotropy on cooking are quantified ...

Abstract Observations of ground deformation provide insights on the triggering mechanisms of eruptions. At Aniakchak Crater (Aleutians) InSAR measured ∼ ${\sim} $72 cm of uplift in less than 7 months between 2022 and 2023. The uplift can be explained by the inflation of a point pressure source at a depth of 3.2 km.
