Ecosystem synergies as drivers of acquisitions

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, Volume 46, Issue 13, Page 3218-3251, December 2025.
Abstract Research Summary We examine how the structure of ecosystems shapes firms’ acquisition choices. We develop a theoretical framework comprising three levels of ecosystem structure – local interdependence, clusters, and centrality – that could drive choices of M&A targets based on expected ecosystem synergies, a previously undocumented acquisition

Email Hoax Detection System Using Levenshtein Distance Method

open access: yesJournal of Computers, 2014
Hoaxes are non-malicious viruses. They live on deceiving human’s perception by conveying false claims as truth. Throughout history, hoaxes have actually able to influence a lot of people to the extent of tarnishing the victim’s image and credibility. Moreover, wrong and misleading information has always been a distortion to a human’s growth.

A PARTIAL RATIO AND RATIO BASED FUZZY-WUZZY PROCEDURE FOR CHARACTERISTIC MINING OF MATHEMATICAL FORMULAS FROM DOCUMENTS

open access: yesICTACT Journal on Soft Computing, 2018
Retrieval of mathematical text from data is a key predicament in present circumstances. To achieve this, we have considered three different algorithms viz., Sequence matcher, Levenshtein Distance and Fuzzy-Wuzzy. Two different variants of Fuzzy-Wuzzy are

Sentiment Classification of Movie Reviews using Levenshtein Distance

open access: yesJournal of Digital Contents Society, 2013
In this paper, we propose a method of sentiment classification which uses Levenshtein distance. We generate BOW(Bag-Of-Word) applying Levenshtein daistance in sentiment features and used it as the training set. Then the machine learning algorithms we used were SVMs(Support Vector Machines) and NB(Naive Bayes).

Slice Distance: An Insert-Only Levenshtein Distance with a Focus on Security Applications

open access: yes2018 9th IFIP International Conference on New Technologies, Mobility and Security (NTMS), 2018
Levenshtein distance is well known for its use in comparing two strings for similarity. However, the set of considered edit operations used when comparing can be reduced in a number of situations. In such cases, the application of the generic Levenshtein distance can result in degraded detection and computational performance.
