Similarity Based Information Retrieval Using Levenshtein Distance Algorithm
Sentence similarity plays an important role in many text-related research and applications such as information retrieval, information recommendation, natural language processing, machine translation and translation memory, and etc. Calculating similarity between sentences is the basis of measuring the similarity between texts which is the key to ...

A predictive model for household displacement duration after disasters
Abstract According to recent Household Pulse Survey data, roughly 1.1% of households were displaced due to disasters in the United States in recent years. Although most households returned relatively quickly, 20% were displaced for longer than 1 month, and 14% had not returned by the time of the survey.

The Integration of Norse‐Derived Terms in English: Effects of Formal Similarity1
Abstract Language change arising from language contact is a complex phenomenon. Peter Matthews encouraged researchers to consider it as firmly grounded in the behaviour of individual speakers. We apply this perspective to investigate the integration of Norse‐derived terms into medieval English, testing for the effect of their phonetic similarity to ...

ABSTRACT This study investigates how expectancy and plausibility influence behavioral and neural measures of language processing during naturalistic reading comprehension. Prior event‐related potential (ERP) studies show evidence of distinct post‐N400 positivities to violations of semantic expectancy and plausibility using artificial serial ...

Email Hoax Detection System Using Levenshtein Distance Method
Hoaxes are non-malicious viruses. They live on deceiving human’s perception by conveying false claims as truth. Throughout history, hoaxes have actually able to influence a lot of people to the extent of tarnishing the victim’s image and credibility. Moreover, wrong and misleading information has always been a distortion to a human’s growth.
