Cosmological bouncing solutions in f(T, B) gravity
Teleparallel Gravity offers the possibility of reformulating gravity in terms of torsion by exchanging the Levi-Civita connection with the Weitzenböck connection which describes torsion rather than curvature.

Fubini-Study metrics and Levi-Civita connections on quantum projective spaces
We introduce analogues of the Fubini-Study metrics and the corresponding Levi-Civita connections on quantum projective spaces. We define the quantum metrics as two-tensors, symmetric in the appropriate sense, in terms of the differential calculi introduced by Heckenberger and Kolb.

Active Particles in Tunable Compressible Environments
Gold‐capped active microparticles powered by electric fields plough their way through a matrix of repulsive spheres, shoveling them aside. At high densities and field strengths, an initial strong direction fluctuation may compress the matrix asymmetrically and lead to an asymmetric reaction favoring sustained turns to the same side (spontaneous ...

A classification of locally homogeneous affine connections on compact surfaces
We classify the affine connections on compact orientable surfaces for which the pseudogroup of local isometries acts transitively. We prove that such a connection is either torsion-free and flat, the Levi-Civita connection of a Riemannian metric of ...

The Levi-Civita connections of manifolds with prescribed optical geometries
We explicitly derive the Christoffel symbols in terms of adapted frame fields for the Levi-Civita connection of a Lorentzian $n$-manifold $(M, g)$, equipped with a prescribed optical geometry of Kähler-Sasaki type. The formulas found in this paper have several important applications, such as determining the geometric invariants of Lorentzian manifolds ...

Effect of Field Line Torsion on the Polarization of ULF Waves
Abstract In this paper we suggest a simple modification of the dipole magnetic field which introduces field‐aligned currents and torsion to the field lines. The resulting field lines are not contained in the meridional planes and have resemblance to the geomagnetic field lines in the dawn and dusk flanks of the magnetosphere. We analyze polarization of

Embedding Riemannian Manifolds by the Heat Kernel of the Connection Laplacian [PDF]
Given a class of closed Riemannian manifolds with prescribed geometric conditions, we introduce an embedding of the manifolds into $\ell^2$ based on the heat kernel of the Connection Laplacian associated with the Levi-Civita connection on the tangent ...

PP-waves with torsion and metric-affine gravity
A classical pp-wave is a 4-dimensional Lorentzian spacetime which admits a nonvanishing parallel spinor field; here the connection is assumed to be Levi-Civita. We generalise this definition to metric compatible spacetimes with torsion and describe basic

Finite Element Approximation of the Levi-Civita Connection and Its Curvature in Two Dimensions
We construct finite element approximations of the Levi-Civita connection and its curvature on triangulations of oriented two-dimensional manifolds. Our construction relies on the Regge finite elements, which are piecewise polynomial symmetric (0,2)-tensor fields possessing single-valued tangential-tangential components along element interfaces.
