Development of Simplified Methods for Levitation Force Distribution in Maglev Vehicles Using Frequency Ratio Tests [PDF]

open access: goldSensors
Maglev vehicles apply the entire vehicle load uniformly onto bridges through levitation forces. In assessing the dynamic characteristics of the maglev train–bridge coupling system, it is reasonable to simplify the distributed levitation force as a ...

Analysis of High Force Voice Coil Motors for Magnetic Levitation [PDF]

open access: goldActuators, 2020
A voice coil motor is a simple and linear electromagnetic actuator. Since it has a non-contact force and very low stiffness, it is widely used for precision positioning devices including magnetic levitation systems. During magnetic levitation, high force

Miniature optical force levitation system [PDF]

open access: bronzeChinese Optics Letters, 2021
Optical levitation technology is a new levitation technology for trapping micro/nano-particles. By taking advantage of the mechanical effect of light, it has the characteristics of non-contact and high sensitivity. However, the traditional optical levitation system is large in volume, complex in adjustment, and greatly affected by the external ...

Increased levitation force in a stable hybrid superconducting magnetic levitation set-up

open access: yesEngineering Research Express, 2022
Abstract We present results obtained with an original hybrid set-up permitting to increase strongly the levitation force of Superconducting Magnetic Levitating (SML) systems. We compare levitation force measurements carried out with this set-up to measurements carried out with a conventional one.

Short-Range Force Detection Using Optically Cooled Levitated Microspheres [PDF]

open access: greenPhysical Review Letters, 2010
We propose an experiment using optically trapped and cooled dielectric microspheres for the detection of short-range forces. The center-of-mass motion of a microsphere trapped in vacuum can experience extremely low dissipation and quality factors of $10^{12}$, leading to yoctonewton force sensitivity.

Characterization of levitation force for a superconducting magnetic levitation vehicle

open access: yesTransportation Systems and Technology, 2018
Background: In Superconducting Magnetic Levitation (SML) transportation systems, such as the MagLev-Cobra prototype, the levitation force plays an important role, both for efficiency and safety reasons. Aim: Determination of the maximum load on the magnetic suspension.

Proposition of a passive levitation system utilizing thrust and magnetic force for a ventricular assist device

open access: goldJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2022
For circulation support in patients with heart disease, a miniaturized implantable ventricular assist device (VAD) is required. However, several issues such as hemolysis and miniaturization need to be addressed.

MODEL OF A MAGNETICALLY LEVITATED TRAIN'S LEVITATION FORCE

open access: yesTransportation systems and technology, 2017
The implementation of the magnetically levitated train’s (MLT) levitation force (LF) occurs during the interaction between fields of superconductor train (STC) and short-circuited track contours (SCTC), which are the elements of levitation module (LM ...
