A New Magnetic Levitation System With an Increased Levitation Force

IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2019
A conventional configuration for levitating a vehicle consists of a magnetic guideway on the ground and superconductors in a cryostat located below the vehicle, at a few millimetres from the guideway. A problem is the limitation of the levitating force by the amplitude of the magnetic field generated by the guideway and the size of the superconductors.

Acoustic levitation and the acoustic radiation force

American Journal of Physics, 2021
We investigate acoustic levitation in a vertical standing wave in an attempt to understand the basic physical mechanism responsible for this phenomenon. We find that a description in terms of a simple pressure force leads to the prediction of stable equilibria that occur slightly below the anti-nodes of the standing pressure wave.

Levitation Force of Magnetized HTS Tape Stacks

IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2017
High-temperature superconductors (HTS) have the significant potential of magnetic-force-based applications. Nowadays, wide spread of coated conductors tapes (CC-tapes) enables the use of HTS stacks in levitation applications. For the development of CC-tapes-based bearings and transportation systems, it is important to have information on stability of ...

Effect of partitioning YBaCuO bulk on the levitation force in Halbach external field

Journal of Applied Physics, 2023
When a YBaCuO bulk superconductor (SC) is subdivided, its levitation force may not be significantly reduced after this partitioning process. The force will decrease even less if the sectional surface introduced by partitioning is parallel to the induced ...

The feasibility of designing a back propagation neural network to predict the levitation force of high-temperature superconducting magnetic levitation

Superconductors Science and Technology, 2022
The levitation force between the superconductor and the magnet is highly nonlinear and affected by the coupling of multiple factors, which brings many obstacles to research and application.
