Optimization Analysis of the Dynamic Performance of Permanent Magnet Levitation Vehicles Based on Magnetic Wheelset

open access: yesMachines
The permanent magnet levitation (PML) transportation system utilizes Halbach arrays to achieve zero-power levitation. However, the system’s lateral negative stiffness characteristic leads to a significant increase in lateral force during operation ...

Towards directional force sensing in levitated optomechanics

open access: yes, 2022
Levitated nanoparticles are being intensively investigated from two different perspectives: as a potential realisation of macroscopic quantum coherence; and as ultra-sensitive sensors of force, down to the zeptoNewton level, with a range of various applications, including the search for Dark Matter.

Non‐Equilibrium Synthesis Methods to Create Metastable and High‐Entropy Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Stabilizing multiple elements within a single phase enables the creation of advanced materials with exceptional properties arising from their complex composition. However, under equilibrium conditions, the Hume–Rothery rules impose strict limitations on solid‐state miscibility, restricting combinations of elements with mismatched crystal ...

Permanent Magnet or Additional Electromagnet Compensation Structures of End Electromagnet Module for Mid-Low Speed Maglev Train

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal, 2022
In the mid-low speed Maglev train, the levitation force produced by end electromagnets is influenced by the train speed due to the eddy current effect, especially the front-end electromagnets at high speed. In this paper, the eddy current effect of front-

Acoustofluidic Patterning for Improved Microtissue Histology

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Microtissue histology is widely used to characterize microtissue phenotype and morphology. However, conventional microtissue histology workflows are inefficient and time‐consuming. This work introduces a novel embedding technique that uses acoustofluidics to improve the efficiency of microtissue histology and reduce the time required for data analysis.
