Levy flights for improved Ladar scanning
2010 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques, 2010A new approach has been used to improve Ladar performance in real time applications based on the use of Levy statistics. This approach speeds up target detection and does not require a full scan of the field of view and the subsequent data processing.

'True' self-avoiding Levy flights
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1985The authors consider 'true' self-avoiding Levy flights, defined by a probability decreasing like r- sigma of making a step of length larger then r, with a tendency to avoid already visited sites. The predictions of a Flory argument for the upper critical dimension and for the exponent of the gyration radius appear to be in disagreement with those of a ...

On the Robustness of Self-Adaptive Levy-Flight
2018 OCEANS - MTS/IEEE Kobe Techno-Oceans (OTO), 2018The long term goal of this research is to develop a flexible, low-cost and autonomous platform for submarine exploration. Such a platform can be used for locating submarine points of interest. Search algorithms are used to guide autonomous underwater vehicles towards their goals.

Levy flight of atoms in collision cascades
EPL (Europhysics Letters), 2008In this work we analyze the ballistic phase of displacement cascades. Monte Carlo simulations performed with realistic cross-sections were used to calculate the probability density function, pL(l), describing the length traveled by a particle between two successive collisions within the binary collision approximation framework.

Anomalous diffusion in ‘‘living polymers’’: A genuine Levy flight?
Physical Review Letters, 1990We have observed anomalously enhanced self- (tracer) diffusion in systems of polymerlike breakable micelles. We argue that it provides the first experimental realization of a random walk for which the second moment of the jump-size distribution fails to exist (``Levy flight'').

Visual Tracking with Levy Flight Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm
2019Grasshopper optimization algorithm (GOA) is a new meta-heuristic optimization algorithm that it simulates behavior of grasshopper swarms in nature. In this paper, a tracking framework called improved levy flight grasshopper optimization algorithm (LGOA) tracker is proposed.
