Levy Noise Affects Ornstein–Uhlenbeck Memory [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy
This paper investigates the memory of the Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process (OUP) via three ratios of the OUP increments: signal-to-noise, noise-to-noise, and tail-to-tail. Intuition suggests the following points: (1) changing the noise that drives the OUP from

Influence of levy noise on subthreshold synchronization of spintronic stochastic neurons

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2021
Superparamagnetic tunnel junctions (SMTJs) are spintronic nanodevices that can oscillate spontaneously under the influence of thermal noise. Studies have proposed that SMTJs can be modeled as magnetic neurons by subjecting them to electrical Gaussian ...

Lévy noise improves the electrical activity in a neuron under electromagnetic radiation. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
As the fluctuations of the internal bioelectricity of nervous system is various and complex, the external electromagnetic radiation induced by magnet flux on membrane can be described by the non-Gaussian type distribution of Lévy noise.

Influence of Gaussian noise and Levy noise on the phase dynamics of the ensemble of Kuramoto-like oscillators of first and second order [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Прикладная нелинейная динамика
The purpose of this study is to determine the stability threshold of the dynamic modes of the ensemble of phase Kuramoto-like oscillators, describing the behavior of a simple power grid model with a ring topology, under the external influence of Gaussian

Stochastic oscillations suppression by levy-noise [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2009
We consider effect of stochastic sources self-organization process being initiated with creation of the limit cycle. It is shown that stochastic system driven by stable Levy noise can not display oscillations in non-equilibrium steady state.

Stochastic bifurcation in generalized chua's circuit through alpha-stable levy noise [PDF]

open access: yes2017 24th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (ICECS), 2017
In this study, we investigate the changes in the dynamics of generalized Chua's circuit through a-stable Levy noise in the framework of stochastic bifurcation concept. By choosing the noise intensity, characteristic exponent (impulsiveness parameter) and the skewness parameter of the a-stable Levy noise as the bifurcation parameters we have observed ...

Suppression of Oscillations by Lévy Noise [PDF]

open access: yesUkrainian Journal of Physics, 2022
We find the analytic solution of a pair of stochastic equations with arbitrary forces and multiplicative Lévy noises in a steady-state nonequilibrium case. This solution shows that Lévy flights always suppress a quasiperiodic motion related to the limit cycle.

Measuring “Where”: A Comparative Analysis of Methods Measuring Spatial Perception

open access: yesSensors, 2023
The literature offers various methods for measuring sound localization. In this study, we aimed to compare these methods to determine their effectiveness in addressing different research questions by examining the effect sizes obtained from each measure.

Lévy noise versus Gaussian-noise-induced transitions in the Ghil–Sellers energy balance model [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics, 2022
We study the impact of applying stochastic forcing to the Ghil–Sellers energy balance climate model in the form of a fluctuating solar irradiance. Through numerical simulations, we explore the noise-induced transitions between the competing warm and ...
