DNS analysis on the correlation between local burning velocity and flame displacement speed of turbulent premixed flames

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology
The local burning velocity and flame displacement speed are the major properties of premixed flames. The local burning velocity, which is the instantaneous quantity based on the local consumption rate of the unburnt mixture, is considered to be the most ...

Catalytic Acetylation of Aromatics with Metal Chlorides and Solid Acids − a Comparative Study

open access: yesEurasian Chemico-Technological Journal, 2004
Evaluation of catalytic performances of selected metal chlorides such as AlCl3, SnCl4, ZnCl2, FeCl3, InCl3 and GaCl3 with solid acids such as sulfated zirconia, and zeolite beta was accomplished for acetylation of anisole, toluene and naphthalene ...

Arrhenius activation energy of tangent hyperbolic nanofluid over a cone with radiation absorption

open access: yesResults in Engineering, 2022
This study focuses on an incompressible non-Newtonian nanofluid in a 2-dimensional transient boundary layer through a cone. The Arrhenius activation energy and radiation absorption are both accounted for the non-Newtonian nanofluid model. The Runge-Kutta

Convective transport in a porous medium layer saturated with a Maxwell nanofluid

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Engineering Sciences, 2016
A linear and weakly non-linear stability analys is has been carried out to study the onset of convection in a horizontal layer of a porous medium saturated with a Maxwell nanofluid.

Enthalpies of Adduct Formation between Boron Trifluoride and Selected Organic Bases in Solution: Toward an Accurate Theoretical Entry to Lewis Basicity

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
The Lewis basicity of selected organic bases, modeled by the enthalpies of adduct formation between gaseous BF3 and bases in dichloromethane (DCM) solution, is critically examined.

Combustion mechanism of propane-air swirling premixed flame near lean flammability limit

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology
This study investigated a premixed propane-air flame in a partially tapered swirl burner. Experimentally, we found that a flame resembling a morning glory flower formed at an equivalence ratio near the lean flammability limit.

Thermo-diffusion effects on MHD stagnation point flow towards a stretching sheet in a nanofluid

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research, 2014
Thermodiffusion effects on stagnation point flow of a nanofluid towards a stretching surface with applied magnetic field is presented. Similarity transforms are applied to reduce the equations that govern the flow to a system of nonlinear ordinary ...

On the stability of high Lewis number combustion fronts

open access: yesDiscrete & Continuous Dynamical Systems - A, 2009
We consider wave fronts that arise in a mathematical model for high Lewis number combustion processes. An efficient method for the proof of the existence and uniqueness of combustion fronts is provided by geometric singular perturbation theory. The fronts supported by the model with very large Lewis numbers are small perturbations of the front ...

Intermediate Phase‐Free Process for Methylammonium Lead Iodide Thin Film for High‐Efficiency Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2021
Solvent engineering by Lewis‐base solvent and anti‐solvent is well known for forming uniform and stable perovskite thin films. The perovskite phase crystallizes from an intermediate Lewis‐adduct upon annealing‐induced crystallization.
