Morphological Complexity and Conceptualization : The Human Body [PDF]
In this squib, I want to argue that the morphological structure of words is, at least to some extent, motivated. As an example I have choosen the partonomic (and for the less part taxonomic) nomenclature of the human body.

Morphosyntactic complexity: A typology of lexical splits
A key notion in understanding language is ‘possible word (lexeme)’. While there are lexemes that are internally homogeneous and externally consistent, we find others with splits in their internal structure (morphological paradigm) and inconsistencies in their external behavior (syntactic requirements).

Decoding Emotional Signatures of Ethical Ads: An Analysis of Actor‐Viewer Synchrony
ABSTRACT We examine whether ethical advertisements differ from conventional ads in their on‐screen emotional signatures and whether those signatures transfer to actor‐viewer synchrony. Study 1 analyses 138 professionally produced YouTube ads using Automated Facial Expression Recognition (AFER) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to quantify actor ...

Computational complexity and lexical functional grammar [PDF]
An important goal of modern linguistic theory is to characterize as narrowly as possible the class of natural languages. One classical approach to this characterization has been to investigate the generative capacity of grammatical systems specifiable within particular linguistic theories. Formal results along these lines have already been obtained for

ABSTRACT Although research on sustainability in the healthcare sector is growing, limited attention has been paid to how pharmaceutical companies can be motivated to engage more actively in achieving net‐zero healthcare goals. This study argues that the breadth of directors' experiences—across educational, industrial, and organizational domains—can ...

ABSTRACT This study examines the use of environmental disclosure as a strategic tool to manage legitimacy crises in a mining company, adopting critical discourse analysis (CDA) as the main methodology. Focusing on a case of environmental disaster, this research reveals how corporate narratives can be manipulated to minimize responsibility and reinforce
