Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Does Richness Lose its Luster? Effects of Extensive Practice on Semantic Richness in Visual Word Recognition

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2012
Previous studies have reported facilitatory effects of semantic richness on word recognition (e.g., Yap, Pexman, Wellsby, Hargreaves & Huff, 2012).

Multiscale Coupling From Mastication to Retronasal Aroma Perception: The PG‐DTCFN Model and Multiphysics Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using grilled lamb skewers as a model system, this work builds a multiscale coupling framework from oral processing to retronasal aroma perception, reveals dual‐kinetic release patterns and Electroencephalogram‐characterized central encoding features, and proposes an interpretable physics‐guided deep learning model validated by multiphysics simulation,

The Influence of Common Language on the Trade of Wheat and Bakery Products

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines whether sharing a common official language increases the probability that two countries engage in bilateral trade of wheat and bakery products. Using a binary choice framework applied to 54,780 country‐pair observations for 2023, probit and logit models of the extensive margin of trade are estimated, with a focus on whether

Accelerating the Discovery of Proton Conducting Electrolytes via Machine Learning‐Enabled Literature Mining

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
An end‐to‐end knowledge discovery framework is established to automate high‐precision property extraction from small, specialized literature corpora. Utilizing a domain‐specific bidirectional encoder representation from a transformer model and data augmentation, the system accurately extracts and structures electrolyte performance data, ultimately ...

The Insistence of Blackness and the Persistence of Antiblackness in Ireland

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper positions Ireland as a critical site for examining the insistence of blackness and an antiblackness created and sustained through Irish ethnonationalist imaginaries and exclusionary processes. Drawing on connected sociologies and Irish Black Studies, this enquiry argues that antiblackness in Ireland operates as a generational force,

Lexical richness in academic papers: a comparison between students’ and lecturers’ essays

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Applied Linguistics, 2016
In the area of writing, research has yet to explore EFL learners’ ability to use varied vocabulary. Although vocabulary teaching has enriched learners’ knowledge of lexical items, whether they can use the words they have learned remains to be seen. It is
