Circumscription of three new taxa of Merismopedia‐like Cyanobacteria shows how far convergent evolution can go

Abstract The genus Merismopedia (Merismopediaceae, Chroococcales), characterized by rectangular colonies with cells arranged in regular perpendicular rows and columns, represents a challenging study system due to its limited cultivability. The genus recently underwent taxonomic revision using cultivation‐independent techniques and a polyphasic approach.

Tropical farmers try to adapt calf‐rearing systems to temperate dairy industry standards. Calves in tick‐infested areas develop stronger immunity to TBD under controlled exposure to ticks. Early tick exposure promotes sustainable management, balancing tick infestation and developing TBD immunity.

WHAT ONCE WAS SHALL BE AGAIN: PALAEOLITHIC BIFACES AT THE NEOLITHIC SITE OF GIV'AT RABI EAST

Summary Giv'at Rabi East is a Pre‐Pottery Neolithic B site located in northern Israel, interpreted as a flint workshop. One area has been spatially identified as a ‘biface locality’; it is characterized by the presence of finished axes and preforms alongside débitage. Interestingly, Acheulean bifaces have also been recovered from this area.
