The influence of cutting height on arthropods in farm grassland
Insect Conservation and Diversity, Volume 19, Issue 5, Page 1124-1139, September 2026.Mowing at a cutting height of 13 cm slightly reduced the immediate negative impact of mowing compared to mowing at a height of 7 cm. Medium‐term effects overrode this benefit: the number of vegetation‐dwelling arthropods remained strongly reduced two and four weeks after mowing, regardless of the cutting height.
