AgNOR in Human Leydig Cell Tumors
1997There may be overlap between the microscopic features in benign and rare malignant Leydig cell tumors. Moreover, there is often considerable morphological similarity to normal Leydig cells causing difficulties in predicting which tumors will show a malignant behaviour (Kim et al., 1985).

We report on a 44-year-old patient with Leydig cell tumor of the testis that had been incidentally detected following orchidectomy for a tumor. The clinical, hormonal and histological criteria currently used to distinguish the malignant from the benign form of this tumor and the different therapeutical alternatives are discussed.

Urologiia i nefrologiia, 1997The authors review case histories of 23 patients with leydigomas selected from records on 134 patients with nongerminogenic testicular tumors. Malignancy occurred in 6 cases. Two cases with uni- and bilateral testicular involvement are reported. The course of leydigoma in children is described.
